sluffing today

Well, I'm sluffing school today....and it feels AWESOME!!

After a few crazy rough days at work (and because I had to put together sharing time, finish homework for school, and clean my house) I decided to take a mental health day and called in for a sub. It's not even noon yet but I've already got lots of stuff done. It feels nice to be so productive!

I just found a sharing time idea that requires almost no work on my part because it's all outlined and ready to go. I will be busy tomorrow so I am glad to have gotten it completed so quickly and not have to worry about it.

My house is clean and smells great! The dog is having a fun time laying on the carpet following the sun as it moves across the floor. He's so funny.

I still have the homework to do but I'm trying to dig deep to find motivation to log on. I have to set up my online portfolio, which costs $65 and post a response to my reading assignment. It shouldn't take too long and technically I still have until Sunday to complete it. But again, it'll be a busy weekend so I need to use my free time wisely!!

I treated myself last night to a manicure and full set of nails. There is a place by my house that has great prices and good atmosphere. I almost fell asleep in the chair while the lady was doing my nails, I was so relaxed. My fingertips still kind of hurt because of all the filing and stuff, but they look nice!!! I've found that having the acrylic nails helps me so I don't bite and pick at my cuticles.

As mentioned above, it's been a crazy week at school. I'm blaming it on two (well, three) things:
1. It is the week before spring break and we're finally getting some nice weather. The kids are definitely experiencing a little bit of spring fever.
2. I'm teaching writing, which is hard to make exciting (even though I brought them food of some sort EVERY day to get them motivated to write)
3. They're just disrespectful jerks.

There are only 3 days of school next week, one of which is a holiday (St. Patrick's Day). I am going to have students write limericks on Monday...something that I did with my students in Idaho and they loved it. I don't know about the rest of the week, but it'll be crazy any way I take it.

Tomorrow is my nieces birthday party so we have all sorts of family coming in. My dad is staying at our house and we'll be also able to see my brother Eric and his wife, Heather. It will be fun!

Tonight is our ward social: an ice cream sociable. Ben's making 3 different types of ice cream. This will be a fun one!!!!
