lauren news

17 days. I. Can. Hardly. Wait.

Today was definitely a Monday and I'm ecstatic about the fact that I only have 2 more Mondays of this crazy school year.

I'm really sick of my work and my students, so I'm not really interested in writing any more about it. Enjoy some other Lauren news.

Yesterday was Mother's Day. I have the VERY BEST mom in the whole wide freakin' world. No. Really. I do. I've read a lot of my friends blog posts about their moms and I agree, they all have great moms too. But my mom is truly the best. Last week while she was in Mexico, I went through withdrawals not being able to talk to her. She would do anything for me. She is so super supportive and will always listen to me complain. She buys me stuff a lot, which is fun, but just the fact that she loves me is the greatest thing ever. She is my best friend and I'm SO happy she is my mom. I love you, mom.

I also have a really awesome mother-in-law. She treats me like one of her own and makes me feel special. She got me a sewing machine for Christmas one year that I PROMISE I will use this summer. She raised my husband who sometimes drives me crazy, but who is great and wonderful because of her. She is a great example to me and I'm glad to be her #1 daughter :).

We had a really full Sunday. We had our church from 9-12, then we went to sacrament with Ben's parents from 12:30-1:30. After that, we went to eat sandwiches at the Hubert's. And then we went to dinner at the grandparents Huberts. And then we visited the grandparents (and other family) Witt. And then we stopped at my grandmas. And then we went to my moms for a bit. It was a whirlwind day but I was glad to be see all the wonderful moms/grandmas in my life.
We got all the moms and grandma's an edelweiss plant, which is really cool because it's the plant in the song in the movie "The Sound of Music." I also made everyone cards with my Cricut.

Great news! We finally got my silver hood of my green car painted! Ben took it into a local body shop last week with a silver hood and when we picked it up on Friday, the whole car was GREEN. I feel like I'm driving a whole new car. Thanks, B.

Ben put together a beta fish tank for me. My beta is red and his name is Capote. I'm a little obsessed with Truman Capote lately, so I decided to pay homage to him. Mostly the fish just swims around but he's pretty neat.

Elder Hubert left today on an airplane for a looonnngg flight to Brisbane, Australia. Thus far, Ben and I have received one letter (Ben got another today but I was nice and didn't open it :)) He seemed to have had a good experience at the MTC and is excited to get to Australia. I am really proud of him but it has been weird not having him around. Love ya, J-Dawg!

A few weeks ago my mom, grandma Ella, Cassidy, and I got a "4-Generation" picture taken. It's not a true 4 generation because Cassidy isn't my child, but we still called it one. My mom didn't really like the way they turned out so she gave me the BIG copy of this picture.

I read an article written by my favorite columnist today. Read the article. It's fun. I've been coming up with my own 6-letter autobiographies all day and will post all my options tomorrow for my readers to vote for; I'm going to e-mail her the winner.

I'm off to pretend to work on ESL homework. And Reading Class homework. And (not) thinking about how excited I am to go to work tomorrow.

Hard to believe it's the end of the school year already. Sounds like you are really ready for it to be over..
That Ann Cannon article is fun but I'm not very creative. Send me some of your samples.
And that picture of all is you is very nice...I'd forgotten your hair is so short. And how cute does Cassidy look in hats?
Love ya lots

Schools almost done! That means baby is almost here! I've only got 6 days left....but I'm sure he'll come late and then I'll be dying for him to get out!!!!!

I'll have to think of some good 6 word autobiographies-that sounds like fun.

Hope you're doing good!!
