quirk tag

I was tagged by cute Abbey, who is the younger sister of one of my best pals, Katie. Thanks for the fun tag, Abbey!

1. Link the person who tagged you.

2.Post these rules

3.Tell about six unspectacular quirks about yourself

4.Tag six fellow bloggers by link

My unspectacular quirks are...
(This may take me a while...)

1. I always have to drink a glass of cold water right before bed. Usually, I'll be brushing my teeth and when I go to rinse, the cold water makes me crave a big glass, so after I'm done brushing, I fill up a glass with cold water from the Britta filter and drink away.

2. I absolutely HATE feet. I think it stems from my years as a ballerina where I was always trying to fix my bloody and blistery feet from point shoes. I hate when people touch my feet. I hate touching other people's feet. I also can't stand to shower barefoot anywhere besides my own home. At a hotel? Flip-flops. I have teeny-tiny toenails on my big toes because of ingrown toenail surgery and so part of my feet hatred is based, also, on the fact that I have ugly toes. But, I love me a great pair of shoes!

3. My books on my bookshelf have to be in a certain order: Newbury winners on the top and second shelf, from oldest to newest. On the next shelf are books that are not Newbury winners but are favorites nonetheless. I have a shelf of classics (To Kill a Mockingbird, Steinbecks, and the like), a shelf of series (Harry Potter, Twilight, Chronicals of Narnia, etc.), and then a shelf of poetry books, children's picture books, and my Christmas books. Well, that's just one of my book shelves...I'm a bit obsessed with my books.

4. When I sit at my computer, I always tuck my legs and feet underneath me, sitting cross-legged. For some reason this is comfortable to me...until my feet start falling asleep. Likewise, while sitting on my chair at work, I take my feet off and cross my legs. Cute.

5. I check, double check, and triple check all of my outgoing e-mails for grammar and spelling errors. I hate to look stupid (as an English teacher) and to have mistakes. I'm a fan of spellcheck and grammar check for this reason, but--gasp--these do not always work. I spend more time than necessary making sure my e-mails are perfect and neat.

6. The only way I fall asleep at night is by laying on my right side with my right leg tucked underneath my left. I toss and turn if I am not in the position. Sometimes if I can't fall asleep in this position I try the other side and it seems to work, too, but typically I can't fall asleep unless I'm in that position. If Ben wants to "snoodle" (our term for cuddling) before we fall asleep, I can only snoodle for a little bit before I have to turn to the right side.

Well, maybe those were unspectacular quirks, maybe not. I'm sure if you were to ask my husband what my quirks were he'd be able to give me more.

Anyway, I tag: Ben, Katie, Darcy, Aubrey, Quinn, Tammy (if she hasn't had her baby yet!!), and anyone else who wants to.

I did a tag like this awhile ago, so I didn't do all six but I did add three. I also told people to check out your blog with all your funny stories. Hope you don't mind!
Have a happy Friday. No baby yet...will keep you posted!
