snap of the finger

Never before have I wished I could snap my fingers and--POOF!-- stuff would get done as much as I wish right now!

I was horribly lazy on Saturday (seriously, I read one and a half books, went though loads of DVR shows, and napped for 3 hours!) and now I'm wishing I wouldn't have been. There's a pile of laundry as tall as me, dishes in the sink to be cleaned, and my desk is in desperate need of organization. Of course, I could say that the messiness of it all didn't really show up until last night, but of course, I'd be lying.

Today is also the first day of my 2nd class for my master's program. Each class lasts 8 weeks and the first class ended yesterday. I just looked at the stuff for this week's assignment and it doesn't look too bad (in fact, I think I might have done something similar in my ESL class that I could re-use), it's just the fact that the assignment is now also on my lengthy to do list.

So, I wish I could snap my fingers and the house cleaning stuff would be taken care of. Most of you know that Ben just started working full time at the nursery and only has Sunday and Thursday off. Needless to say, stuff around the house kind of gets put on the back burner (speaking of burners, my stove-top burners need to be scrubbed!).

Today at school I was cool. I bought the Run DMC Greatest Hits cd over the weekend because I planned on doing something with rap today. I had them listen to the song "It's like That," and then the assignment was to write a rap. I figured the majority of the students listened to rap and they were all quite excited to be able to write their own. I even said they could beat-box and drum on the table...probably the most annoying thing to me as a teacher. I had students writing wraps about everything from my hot pink shoes I wore today to food. I will give them a chance to perform their raps sometime this week.

Tomorrow I am riding my bike to work (I hope!). It is supposed to get up to 79 degrees tomorrow, perfect riding weather. Ben is (hopefully) going to take my car in to get the hood painted...finally!!!!! I'm uber excited.
