Some EXCITING news that probably most people who read this already know: Ben's brother (and mine too!) Jaren got his mission call. He's going to Brisbane Australia. Congrats!! I am super excited for him but I had a melt-down last night with Ben because we are going to miss him SO much. I know he will be a great missionary.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my dad today. He's turning 29 years old.
ALSO it's TOO cold in Utah and I want to move.
And that's it.
Well, after a long and eventful week, I just woke up after sleeping in until 10am. It felt SO good. I had lots of weird dreams, but the sleep was amazing!
Thursday was the last day of 2nd quarter. I was so beat and wanted to catch up on grading so I brought a movie in for the kids to watch. That was kind of a nightmare in and of itself, but I made it through the day and got my grades done and posted by 3:30 on Thursday.
Friday was a Student Non-Attendance Day and Professional Development. I went in for the Professional Development training and as always, our Title 1 guy had door prizes. There was an 800 piece scrap booking kit and instantly I thought, "I WANT that!" After he asked who wanted it and I jumped up and raised my hand, he had the teacher next to me draw a name. And guess whose name he drew? MINE! I got the scrap booking kit and I was so excited. I used it last night while I was at my mom's scrapping away.
Professional Development was successful and after it was over, I worked with two of the other 8th grade English teachers to put together an Anne Frank/Holocaust unit that we will be starting next week. We got so much accomplished, it was great. The three of us decided that we need to hang out doing non-school related stuff so we have made plans to go to dinner sometime, which will be fun because I really enjoy them.
Yesterday they came in and took out all of my desks and set up the tables and chairs. The one thing I don't quite understand is they got chairs with wheels. I'm not sure who made that decision but that's just a silly thing to do in a junior high. The students will be wheeling around the room and the wheels will all break eventually. I plan on doing a rule reminder on Tuesday and will include some conditions with the wheely chairs. Even I had a hard time keeping the wheels in one place today while I was sitting on them. I know just the students in each class that will be the wheelers.
We had some car drama this week. But I have an amazing husband who is so handy with cars so he fixed them all. My thermostat wasn't working correctly so he fixed it, but the thermostat he put in it was broken. And I don't really know all the details but I do know that he was up till 12 on Thursday night working on my car out in the freezing cold. And he is amazing and I love him.
I've got a busy Saturday. I need to work on Sharing Time for tomorrow. There is tons of laundry to do. The bathroom seriously needs to be clean. Well, let's just face it...the whole house needs to be clean!!!

That's exciting for Jaren--I've heard that missionaries who go to Australia never want to come, they get to love the country and there have been more than a few who go back to live. Maybe you can make plans to go with the Huberts to go get him when he's cause you KNOW they will be going.
I just got home from Fremont street, had prime rib at the Golden Gate Casino just after I won $50 on the big Wheel of Fortune machine. And on top of that I stopped at Coldstone Creamery(there is a new one about 2 blocks from me) and had a big serving of french vanilla with Caramel sauce and graham cracker crust(wet and dry at the same time...yummy)
And now I'm watching one of my weekly favorites, Austin City Limits with Coldplay. I've never been a huge fan of theirs, but in a small setting like ACL, they really do a good show., And this is of course on HDTV so it;s really nice. They just finished a Johnny Cash medley. Good stuff. ANd when you get your bathroom and kitchen clean, come do mine. Sigh.. I hate it. Love ya
Okay, so I vote that you move to Arizona. The high today is 64 degrees and the low is 36 degrees (which is still pretty cold all around, BUT, it beats highs of 40 and lows of 25 with snow). Want to move here? Huh?
